🇵🇹 Golden Visa / Investment Residency Authorization (ARI)

Portugal's Golden Visa program allows non-EU/EEA investors to obtain residency by qualifying investment. Significantly reformed in October 2023 (Law 56/2023): real estate investment routes (residential property purchase and capital transfer for real estate) were eliminated. Remaining investment options: (1) Capital transfer ≥EUR 500,000 into qualifying investment funds or venture capital; (2) Capital transfer ≥EUR 500,000 for scientific research; (3) Capital transfer ≥EUR 250,000 for arts/cultural heritage support; (4) Creation of ≥10 jobs in Portugal; (5) Investment ≥EUR 500,000 in eligible company capital and creation of ≥5 jobs. Minimum physical presence: only 7 days/year required. Fast track to citizenship: eligible after 5 years.
